The police responded to a multi-car accident near Dallas Zoo yesterday morning on Interstate-35 E. The crash happened at 5 am. Thankfully, there wasn’t all that much traffic on the road that time of morning of the results of this crash would’ve been even worse. As it is, three women were killed in the tragic accident.
Three women were in a car traveling down the Interstate near South Marsalis Avenue right before 5 am. They were near the Dallas Zoo at the time. Their car stalled in the middle of the highway, leaving them vulnerable to traffic.
A Ford F350 pickup truck was traveling on the highway behind the car. It did not see that the car had come to a stop in the middle of the road and rear-ended the vehicle. The crash must have been rather serious since the pickup driver was going at full speed.
By the time the police arrived on the scene, two of the women in the car had passed away from their injuries. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A third woman initially survived the crash and was taken to the local hospital. Sadly, she passed away shortly thereafter and was pronounced dead at 5:38 am.
The driver of the truck has not been identified. However, police did confirm that he stuck around and waited for the police to arrive. He is fully cooperating. There is no indication at this time that any charges are pending.
The names of the victims have not been released as the cops are waiting to notify their next of kin. There is no explanation for what caused the car to stall. It could have been a mechanical defect with the car.
