While most people in Texas were enjoying Mother’s Day this past Sunday, the police in Harris County were dealing with business as usual. They responded to a call about a fiery car crash on North Freeway near Cypresswood Drive. When they got there, they found a deadly scene unfolding.
A white Chevy Silverado was traveling in the Southbound lanes of North Freeway. For some reason, the driver lost control of his truck and started to veer off the right side of the road. Witnesses who saw the crash said that it didn’t look like the driver tried to brake at all. They also confirmed that they saw three people in the car, including the driver.
After running off the road, the Silverado smashed into a concrete barrier and pole. The impact was so severe, the truck burst into flames moments after hitting the wall. Witnesses who saw the accident stopped and tried to pull the passengers out of the vehicle. Sadly, the flames wre so powerful, they were not able to be of any assistance.
While they idly sat back and watched these poor people burning inside the car, the police arrived at the scene. There was nothing they could do to help the victims. The bodies were burned so badly, they couldn’t even say for sure if all three were men. However, they did state that they think the victims were all male.
The investigating is still ongoing. There’s been no mention of impairment playing a role in the crash. Depending on what happened, the two passengers in the car may have a potential legal claim against the estate of the driver or his insurance company. It depends on what the investigation reveals.
